Paris seemed to cry after us as we left her on Thursday morning. Cloudy skies and a cold wind escorted us out of the city of l'amour. We were not downcast, as we had new sights to explore, more specifically, Brussels. Although we were initially met with rain, the diplomatic city cleared up just in time for us to explore its many sights, smells, and sounds. The Grand Place featured stunning 17th century architecture and many small shops selling lace, chocolate, souvenirs, and waffles. Around the corner, the famous Mannekin Pis relieved itself in the fountain, and Tin Tin and his pals made an appearance. After wondering around the Grand Place and enjoying some of Brussels' specialties, we made our way toward the city palace and finished the night with a meal of the best fries in Belgium. The next day, we continued on our journey, but before saying goodbye to Brussels, we paid a visit to the famous Atom structure.
After a few hours drive we found ourselves in Luxembourg. We spent some time wandering around city center and grabbed lunch at the nearest Quick (Europe's equivalent of a MacDonald). After sending Ena a postcard at the post office, rain chased us out of Luxembourg as made our way toward Switzerland.
