You may or may not have noticed that we have not blogged in quite a while (about two weeks in fact). There is a reason for that. We spent the last two weeks (our equivalent of a spring break) on a European road trip with our cousins Budo, Rudi, and Oici (Rudi's wife). Due to the sheer volume of pictures and experiences, we will be dividing our blog into parts. Enjoy!
Our journey began on Sunday, April 24th, when Budo, Rudi, and Oici, drove up to Vichy from Switzerland, where they had been staying with one of our uncles for a few days. The next day, we made our way toward Paris, stopping first in Versailles to visit the famous chateau. Although the
Chateau de Versailles is closed on Mondays, the gardens were open. Benefiting from the warm, sunny weather, we spent most of the day exploring the vast gardens. We even rented a row boat in the Grand Canal and walked all the way to Queen Marie Antoinette's hamlet to discover that it too was closed. All around, we saw families having picnics, young people sunbathing, cyclists winding their way through the many lanes, and tourists taking the obligatory pictures.
That night, in the glorious city of Paris, we mounted the very top of the Eiffel Tower. It was a perfect ending to an amazing day. We will cover the rest of Paris in the next blog post. Stay tuned.
