Vichy Je t'aime Part 1

Wednesday, Februrary 16, 2011 marked our first full day in Vichy and we did not waste any time. We spent the day wandering around Vichy in search of a grocery store and paid a good amount of money for towels. Around 1:00 PM we had lunch back in our apartment and Skyped with Tata. Later that day we took time to explore the town.

Our apartment is between two parks. Parc Nepoléon III to the west  faces the River Allier. Parc des Sources to the east faces the center of the city and features the beautiful Palais des Congrès Opéra on one end and the Hall des Sources on the other.

Vichy has exceeded all of our expectations. It is a lovely city full of warm hospitality, beautiful Belle Epoque and Art Nouveau architecture, bakeries, and charming French atmposphere. The populatation here consists mainly of university students and elderly. Azra and I have already decided to retire here in our old age.

Grad je predivan. Ovdje vecinom zive studenti i bogati penzioneri. Kad odemo u penziju preselicemo se u Vichy!
